Syncla was built with privacy at its core. Your health data is encrypted, private, and always under your control.

Your Account
Your Account With Syncla
You can create a Syncla account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.
When you create an account, we store basic account information such as, your email address, your display name and the authentication provider you used to sign in.
This information allows us to securely identify your account and sync your data across devices.
Your health data is stored separately in encrypted form and cannot be read by Syncla.
Data
Health and Cycle Data
Syncla allows you to record information such as:
• cycle dates
• symptoms
• mood
• notes
• wellbeing logs
• personal preferences
This information is encrypted on your device before it is stored on our servers.
Syncla’s servers store encrypted data that we cannot read.
If you sign in to Syncla, your encrypted data can sync securely across your devices.
This allows your:
• profile
• cycle history
• daily logs
to remain consistent on each device you use.
All synced data remains encrypted during transfer and storage.
AI Chat
Syncla includes an optional AI chat feature powered by Claude, a large language model developed by Anthropic, Inc. Data collected: When you use AI chat, your typed messages are transmitted to Anthropic's servers to generate a response. How it's collected: Messages are sent in real time via Syncla's secure server each time you submit a message in the chat. Additional data with personalisation enabled: If you have AI personalisation turned on (the default), your current menstrual cycle phase (e.g. follicular, ovulatory, luteal, menstrual) is included alongside
your message to provide more relevant guidance. No other personal data is included. Anthropic, Inc. processes all messages solely to generate responses. Syncla does not store your chat messages on its servers after transmission. Anthropic maintains industry-standard data protection practices and provides equivalent protections to those described in this policy. Their handling of this data is governed by their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy. You can disable AI personalisation or turn off AI chat entirely at any time in Settings → Privacy within the app.
Apple Health Integration
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Syncla can read certain health metrics such as:
• sleep
• steps
• heart rate
• heart rate variability (HRV)
• active calories
This information is used to improve insights and recommendations inside the app.
Syncla accesses Apple Health in read-only mode and never writes information back to Apple Health.
You can disable this feature at any time.
Anonymous Analytics
To improve Syncla, we collect fully anonymised usage insights.
This may include patterns such as:
• common symptoms by cycle phase
• general wellbeing trends
• feature usage
This information does not contain names, emails, or identifiable data and cannot be linked back to individual users.
Syncla does not use health data for advertising or targeted marketing.
Local Processing
Many features of Syncla run directly on your device, including:
• cycle predictions
• personalised insights
• wellbeing guidance
Only encrypted syncing, anonymised analytics, and AI chat communicate with external servers.
Email Communications
If you choose to join our mailing list, we store your email address so we can send updates about Syncla.
Health data is never included in emails, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
What Our Servers Store
Syncla servers may store:
• account information (email and display name)
• encrypted sync data (cycle history and logs)
• monthly AI chat message counts
• optional mailing list subscriptions
• account security events such as sign-in activity
Health data stored on our servers remains encrypted and unreadable to us.
What We Cannot See
Because health data is encrypted before leaving your device, Syncla cannot read your:
• cycle history
• symptom logs
• mood scores
• notes
• Apple Health data
• personal health records
This information remains private to you.
Delete Your Data Anytime
You can delete your Syncla account at any time from the app settings.
Deleting your account permanently removes your account and encrypted sync data from our servers.
Uninstalling the app removes any local data stored on your device.
You also have the right to request deletion of your data under applicable data protection laws.
Export Your Data
You can export your data at any time from the app settings.
Exports include your cycle history, logs, and preferences in a readable format.
Children and Young Users
Syncla is available to users of all ages with age-appropriate content.
Users under the age of 13 must confirm parental consent during setup.
If we become aware that a child is using Syncla without appropriate consent, we will take steps to remove the account..
How We Use Your Information
Syncla uses collected information to:
• provide and operate the Syncla app
• enable secure login and syncing
• improve features through anonymised insights
• maintain system security
• respond to support requests
Syncla does not sell or share personal data with advertisers.
Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, Syncla processes data based on the following legal grounds:
• providing the Syncla service (contractual necessity)
• improving the app through anonymised analytics (legitimate interests)
• optional features such as Apple Health integration and mailing lists (consent)
You may withdraw consent for optional features at any time.
Third-Party Services
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, Syncla processes data based on the following legal grounds:Syncla relies on trusted service providers to operate the platform.
These may include authentication services such as Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In, AI providers used to generate chat responses, and secure cloud hosting providers.
These providers only process limited information necessary to deliver their services.
Data Retention
Account information is stored while your Syncla account remains active.
If you delete your account, associated data is permanently removed from our systems, except where limited retention is required for security or legal purposes.

Some service providers used by Syncla may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area.
Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are used to ensure your data remains protected.
Changes to This Policy

If significant changes occur, we will notify users through the app or website.
